The city is located on the shores of Lake Geneva, close to the French border. Besides its international flair, Geneva is surrounded by breathtaking natural beauty. Lake Geneva and its iconic plume of water will draw your eye on promenades and lush waterside parks, while Mont Salève is a slice of the Alps in the background. The lakefront, along which you’ll find many of Geneva’s tourist attractions, is lined with elegant promenades, parks, and gardens. Strolling through these is one of the favorite things to do in Geneva. Jet d’Eau is a wonderful fountain and is a favorite amongst locals and tourists alike. This iconic landmark is known around the world and is one of the main attractions that people just have to see when visiting Geneva. Seemingly spurting out from the center of the lake, the Jet d’Eau towers to a height of 140 meters and is actually accessible from a small stone jetty.
