Please, don’t use obscene or offensive language.

Please, don’t insult or behaving rudely towards others.

Please, don’t display obscene gestures (e.g., middle finger).

Please, don’t engage in discriminatory actions based on race, religion, nationality, gender, age, appearance, or other personal characteristics.

Please, don’t utilizing third-party software (extensions, plugins, bots, programs, etc.) to alter the functionality of the service, harm other users, or violate their rights.

Please, don’t threatening others in any manner.

3. Actions and your behavior

Avoid engaging in any actions that could be considered obscene. The following behaviors are strictly prohibited:

Appearing naked or in underwear.

Exposing a naked torso while hiding the face.

Aiming the camera at any body parts below the chest (including belly, crotch, legs, toes, etc.), even if they are covered with clothes or belong to another person.

Exposing any intimate body parts.

Aiming the camera at the lips, making any tongue gestures, or licking the lips.

Demonstratively touching any intimate body parts, even if they are covered with clothes or hidden behind an object.

Suggesting “virtual sex” to interlocutors.

Sending emojis or combinations of emojis that may imply sexual meaning due to context or common interpretation (e.g., an eggplant and water drops).

Using words or expressions affiliated with sexually provocative slang or that may imply an obscene meaning (e.g., “cock,” “pussy”).

Asking interlocutors to undress or show any intimate body parts or body parts below the chest.

Making any suggestive gestures or performing actions that may be considered obscene or contain direct or indirect offers with sexual or provocative meanings.

4. Streaming deceptive visual content

Do not stream extraneous or modified images in place of yourself. The following actions are strictly prohibited:

Point the camera at a TV, computer, phone, tablet, car display, or any other screen, regardless of what is shown.

Point the camera at photos, illustrations, or drawings, no matter the content.

Point the camera at any printed, handwritten, or other text signs, regardless of their message.

Use webcam emulators or any other methods to replace, modify, or distort your live video stream, including software filters, visual effects, software masks, and virtual avatars.

5. Advertising and spam are strictly prohibited in any form. The following actions are forbidden:

Distribute images or messages that contain advertising or promotional material.

Share any links, including those to videos or social media profiles.

Send messages in large quantities or send identical messages to numerous recipients.

Request users to engage in online activities (such as liking, subscribing, participating in surveys or polls, visiting websites, etc.).

6. Complaint procedures

As a user of our service, you have the ability to file a complaint (report) against your interlocutor. When a complaint is submitted, our moderators receive a screenshot of the interlocutor’s video and their message (if any). Each complaint is reviewed by our moderators for potential violations, and they determine whether the interlocutor should be banned from the video chat. Our moderators review complaints around the clock, including weekends and holidays.

Our system automatically bans any user who receives multiple complaints within a short period. This helps identify and address violations that might otherwise be difficult to detect. The system takes into account several factors to prevent accidental or unjustified bans.

By using our service, you agree to our current complaint procedures. Please be aware that other users may also submit complaints against you, which could result in an automatic ban.

If your interlocutor violates the chat rules or behaves offensively towards you, do not respond with offensive behavior or violations. Doing so will make you a violator as well, and you may be banned.

7. Age restrictions

To use our service, you must be an adult as defined by the laws of your country.

If you are considered a minor in your country, you are strictly prohibited from using our service, even if you have permission or supervision from a parent or legal guardian.

If you encounter a child in the video chat, please report it to our moderators immediately so they can take swift action to ban the minor from the service.

8. Our Mission and Guidelines

We believe that the ideal user of our service is someone who embodies politeness, openness, and friendliness, always treating others with respect and refraining from insults. This perspective guides our approach to moderation.

To ensure the best experience and avoid unpleasant situations when using the video chat, please follow these guidelines:

Please keep your face visible during video chats. Our users prefer to see who they are practicing language. Avoid covering your face and ensure it remains visible within the camera frame. If you’re uncomfortable showing your face, consider using alternative platforms that support chat without video. Concealing your face while seeing others can be unfair to your conversation partners.

Make sure to turn on sufficient lighting. Our users naturally expect clear visibility during video chats. Poor lighting can hinder effective communication, so use the video chat in a well-lit environment. Take time to adjust your camera setup for optimal lighting and angle before starting your conversation.

Dress appropriately. Video chats are public spaces, and you should present yourself as you would in public among others. Keep in mind that you’re participating in a video chat; please, be respectful and look tidy. Avoid removing your shirt or remaining in your underwear, even in warm weather. Other participants may find this inappropriate, and it could result in a ban.

Be mindful of what is visible on camera. When using video chat, you can switch between the front (selfie) and rear cameras (depending on your device). Ensure that prohibited objects or situations are not visible on either camera. Before switching to the rear camera, especially, confirm that nothing prohibited by the rules is in view. Avoid excessive use of the rear camera and refrain from showing your surroundings or aiming the camera at distant individuals. For face-to-face communication, this is unnecessary and could inadvertently violate the rules. Instead, keep yourself in view most of the time for your conversation partner.

Avoid broadcasting content from other sources. Refrain from pointing the camera at a TV, PC, laptop, or any device screen, even if something interesting is happening. Let people watch TV or internet videos on their own, whenever and wherever they choose, but not during our video chat.

Do not stream video games. Do not stream video games. Our video chat is exclusively for face-to-face language practicing and should not be used for streaming or watching video games. Numerous other online platforms cater to gaming streams and popular streamers.

Avoid using the video chat in restrooms or bathrooms, as these spaces are intended for personal hygiene. People may interpret your actions differently in these settings compared to other rooms.

All violations are treated as such, regardless of whether they occur accidentally. It is difficult to ascertain whether a rule was broken unintentionally or deliberately. Therefore, our moderators respond to violations based on the action rather than its intent, as determining intent objectively is not feasible. For instance, if your device accidentally captures something prohibited by the rules when dropped, it will be considered a violation.

Even momentary infractions can result in a ban. The severity of a violation is not determined by its duration. Whether it lasts a second or several minutes makes no difference. Therefore, it is important to exercise caution and be mindful of your actions while using our video chat.

Ensure that your camera is functioning properly. Please avoid using the video chat with a malfunctioning or disabled camera. When your conversation partners cannot see you, it diminishes their experience, which should not occur due to someone else’s device issues.

Do not allow others to use your device for video chat without your consent or if you are unsure whether they are familiar with the chat rules. You are solely responsible for the content transmitted from your device during video chats. Any violations caused by a friend, relative, or anyone else using your device will be attributed to you.

Exercise caution and forethought. If your conversation partner requests or expects a specific action or response from you, consider whether it complies with the rules. It is in your best interest to refrain from any prompted actions that may result in a ban.

Disconnect when stepping away. If you need to leave practicing, even briefly, do not leave the video chat connected. Avoid making your interlocutors stare at an empty room or ceiling. Disconnect before attending to other tasks, such as answering a call or opening the door.

Never respond with “an eye for an eye.” Our advanced reporting system allows moderators to quickly address violations and ban rule-breakers. Always report violators, but never retaliate with offensive behavior. Moderators review each case individually without considering the reasons behind the actions. Therefore, you are responsible for any inappropriate response and may also be banned.

Protect Your Privacy

Exercise caution and protect your privacy. Do not share personal information or sensitive data with your interlocutor unless you are fully aware of the risks and willing to take full responsibility for any consequences.

Rules Updates and Modifications

We reserve the right to update, revise, or modify these rules at any time without prior notice. It is your responsibility to periodically review the rules for any changes. Make sure to read the rules before using the service (before starting a connection in the video chat). By initiating a connection, you acknowledge and accept any changes.
